MWF expands its global impact
A new launch in Budapest alongside remarkable growth in Buenos Aires
- 31 March, 2026
The Maccabi Women’s Forum continues to grow, inspire, and connect women across the globe.
On International Women’s Day, March 8, the Budapest Women’s Forum officially launched, holding its first event in a beautifully renovated synagogue. This special evening brought together over 70 participants of all ages - including families and couples - creating a growing community of more than 150 women connected through its mailing list.
The event, led by Chair Lela Paran, together with Agnes Rát and Sara Kalman, featured engaging interviews with inspiring Jewish-Hungarian women, including a chef and a singer, setting the tone for future vibrant and meaningful initiatives.
With overwhelmingly positive feedback and participants expressing their excitement and enthusiasm for what lies ahead, the Forum is already planning its next steps. Among its future plans: welcoming Israeli women living in Hungary into this growing community and developing more activities tailored to the interests of the community - from sports groups to special holiday events.

Meanwhile, the Buenos Aires branch of the Women’s Forum continues to demonstrate remarkable growth, reaching approximately 500 members on its mailing list. Under the leadership of Chair Veronica Silbergleit, the Forum is currently working to expand opportunities for women’s participation in sports, including the development of a girls’ hockey league, as well as expanding its activities beyond sports to include educational and community initiatives and collaborations with local organizations.
Upcoming initiatives in Buenos Aires include wellness events, a speakers series, a Rikudim dance session, and the “FACCMA Inspires” talks, featuring leading voices from the community.
In addition, the Forum is already planning its next solidarity mission to Israel, building on the success of the recent mission held in November, organized by Maccabi’s Programs to Israel and the Maccabi Women’s Forum, and supported by Taglit, which brought together 24 women for a meaningful and impactful experience across the country.
From Budapest to Buenos Aires and beyond, the Maccabi Women’s Forum continues to build a powerful global network of women - connecting communities, inspiring leadership, and shaping a brighter future through shared purpose.
