The Torch Must Shine On

After visiting Australia, Argentina, and even the annual Israel Parade in New York, this summer the iconic Maccabiah torch is continuing its global journey – heading to 21 Jewish Summer Camps across the United States, where it will connect with nearly 3,000 young Jews.

Following the huge success of last year, Maccabiah Camp Experience 2025 – our new initiative aiming to bring the world’s premier Jewish sports event to Jewish communities across North America - is tripling its reach. From 7 camps last summer to 21 this year, including both day and overnight camps. For the first time, we’re lighting up new spots on the map: California, North Carolina, Georgia, and New York.

Despite the security challenges in Israel and the impact on flights, we’re proud to announce that the project – run in collaboration with Maccabi USA - will go ahead as planned. Being part of a global Maccabi movement means we have a strong network of athletes and partners worldwide — and that’s what allows us to keep our spirit alive and our activities going, even during these challenging times.

As part of the program, campers will explore the rich history of Maccabi World Union and the Maccabiah, and take part in exclusive sports clinics led by elite Maccabi athletes from around the world. They'll develop new skills, gain expert feedback, and strengthen their teamwork — all while celebrating Jewish pride through sport.

The day will culminate in a traditional torch ceremony, and every camper will recieve a commemorative medal, designed exclusively for Maccabiah Camp Experience, to honore their achievements and their connection to the Maccabiah legacy.

Our journey begins at the first camp on July 14 and will conclude at the final camp on August 6. We look forward to celebrating the Maccabiah spirit together!
