Team Support, New Year, and Paralympic Inspiration
The Maccabi Women's Forum gathered for a special Rosh Ha'Shana toast, celebrating unity, empowerment, and resilience and encouraging women to support one another, lead with determination, and collaborate to overcome the challenges of the New Year. Additionally, we launched our new Forum website!

Held on September 22 via Zoom, the meeting opened with former Knesset member and MWU Deputy Chairperson Orly Froman, who shared insights on the Forum’s recent activities. She addressed the ongoing situation with hostages and celebrated the remarkable contributions of women in the Olympics, showcasing their roles as symbols of resilience and determination.
MWU Honorary Secretary Shirit Saks-Haim introduced the new website and welcomed the chairs of local forums: Lela Paran, CEO of Maccabi Hungary; Monica Kibrit, member of the CDI Board; Bela Himelfarb, CEO of Maccabi Colombia; and Veronica Silbergleit, General Secretary of FACCMA. Their leadership and dedication to the ‘100 Women in 100 Cities’ initiative are vital for uplifting women in their communities.
Shirit also welcomed Nicole Winitsky from Stockholm, who shared heartfelt reflections on her community’s efforts to empower women and promote support initiatives, emphasizing the strength found in solidarity. The event featured Donna Orender, former WNBA commissioner and Maccabi USA officer, who spoke about her initiatives focused on empowering women in sports. Her inspiring stories of resilience underscored the importance of lifting each other during challenging times.
Moran Samuel, Gold Medalist from the Paris Paralympic Games, inspired attendees with her journey as an athlete and advocate for women’s rights, highlighting the powerful impact of women in sports and leadership.
Ronit Neaman, Maccabi Europe Desk Chairperson and WZO Presidium member, shared updates on the Forum’s goals for the upcoming year, emphasizing the importance of unity among women in achieving shared objectives.
