Despite Ruth's challenges with muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy, her father, Erick, and their family were committed to bringing her to music festivals she loved, both in Israel and around the world. At these events, Ruth danced in her decorated wheelchair, often cradled in Erick's loving embrace. Witnesses recall that at the Nova party, Erick remained composed and protected Ruth, holding her close to keep her calm. He believed maintaining composure, love, and unity is paramount in adversity. Erick and Ruth were found tenderly embracing each other.
As part of his guiding beliefs, Erick often said: “Ruth is a treasure from above; diversity is the norm. Maintain the unity of love and giving; the entire world is one family. Be present for each other, savor every moment; life is both long and short. People bring light and love. Celebrate life without concern for others' judgment.”
"Angels" is the fourth song released from the "Project Heroes" Album, dedicated to the memory of Erick and Ruth Peretz.
The "Heroes" project, spearheaded by singer and songwriter Gilad Segev, is a non-profit initiative celebrating Jewish heroism through music and stories. From the days of Abraham to contemporary times, the project aims to reshape perceptions of the Jewish people by highlighting their enduring acts of bravery and resilience.
