A Message From the Chairman

"Moving forward with strength and hope for a better reality"

  • 30 March, 2026

Dear friends,

Israel and the entire Jewish world are going through a challenging and complex period. The war with Iran is achieving significant objectives, but it must conclude with a diplomatic resolution that ensures long-term stability. At the same time, there is hope for calm in the north, alongside the expectation that the Lebanese government will take responsibility and act to restrain Hezbollah, which poses a real threat to the State of Israel.

In this reality, Israelis hope to return to normal life, with full economic, social, and cultural activity, especially during Passover.

For us in the Maccabi movement, Passover also represents a necessary turning point. We are in the midst of intensive preparations for the Maccabiah, which will take place in just three months, and we are moving forward with full strength toward this peak event of the Jewish people.

The Maccabi world continues to demonstrate its commitment to Judaism, to Israel, and to the Maccabiah, and we salute you with great appreciation.

We wish all of you a happy Festival of Freedom, in Israel and throughout the Diaspora, and we hope that immediately after the holiday, we will move into a calmer, more stable, and better reality for all.

Wishing you a happy and peaceful Passover,

Amir Peled

Chairman, Maccabi World Union
