Each month, we'll share a song written to honor the courageous individuals who sacrificed their lives on October 7th and afterward, ensuring that their heroic spirit remains with us forever

Yotam Haim was kidnapped from Kfar Aza Kibutz by Hamas terrorists, who burned down his house. He was held captive for over 60 days before managing to escape with two other hostages, Samer Fouad al-Talalka, and Alon Shamriz. Together, they hid and attempted to send messages to the IDF soldiers. Tragically, on the 70th day after his kidnapping, Yotam was accidentally shot by IDF forces, who mistakenly identified the three as terrorists. Yotam lived his life as a free-spirited artist and died a free man.
"You can take my life
But you can't take my freedom
You can lock my body
But you can't have my heart
If you surround me with water
I'll split the Red Sea
As I hold the key to free me"
The "Heroes" project, spearheaded by singer and songwriter Gilad Segev, is a non-profit initiative celebrating Jewish heroism through music and stories. From the days of Abraham to contemporary times, the project aims to reshape perceptions of the Jewish people by highlighting their enduring acts of bravery and resilience.
