    8-time Dutch national champion, de-selected for Delegation to Los Angeles '32 because Dutch Nazis ran the team, and later refused to participate at Berlin; survived Bergen-Belsen.

    USA – Discus: Olympic Silver at Amsterdam '28, Gold at Los Angeles '32
    Probably the world's top female field athlete of the late 1920's, early 1930's: At Olympics, she could compete only in discus, then the only women's weight-throw event. She held 6 world records for shot put, javelin and discus in that period, but of course, refused to compete in the 1936 Olympics.

    France – Swimmer: World Record Holder and Olympian
    Maccabiah 100m freestyle silver in 1935 aged 20; Set world 200m butterfly record in Vichy France, 1941. Survived Auschwitz, set 3 x 100m World Relay record in 1946, aged 31; reached 200m breaststroke semifinal heat and placed 6th with French water polo team at London 1948 Olympics.
